What is the Cardiac Rehab Run and who can register?

The Cardiac Rehab Run is our flagship annual event, built to raise awareness on preventing heart attacks, the leading cause of death in India, and one that is highly preventable. Through advocacy, screening, and structured cardiac rehab and endurance building, we support India's first Advanced Physician Supervised Cardiac Rehab Centre. The run is open to everyone, individuals, families, and corporate teams, with categories for all fitness levels. Proceeds support cardiac rehabilitation access for heart patients across Hyderabad.

What is the Telangana Marathon?

The Telangana Marathon is a trademarked, statewide running movement covering all 33 districts of Telangana, organized by Telangana Runners. The vision is to build the fittest state in India by bringing structured, scientifically designed marathons to every district over the next few years, making running accessible to people in villages, towns, and cities alike. Beyond the race itself, it carries a strong social impact and public health mission, encouraging communities to adopt fitness as a lifestyle and combat lifestyle diseases. Who founded Telangana Runners and why?

Telangana Runners was founded by Dr Muralidar Babi, a Cardiac Rehab Physician who runs India's first Advanced Physician Supervised Cardiac Rehab Centre in Hyderabad. Through years of helping heart attack survivors and heart failure patients rebuild endurance and return to active life, he saw firsthand that low endurance is the common root of heart attacks, whether preventing a first one or a second. Telangana Runners was founded to take that same principle statewide, building endurance across all 33 districts of Telangana through advocacy, research, training, and community events.

Is Telangana Runners a registered organization? Can I trust it with a donation?

Yes. Telangana Runners is a registered public charitable trust, Regd. No. 123/2025, and every donation is used directly to fund our mission of building endurance and preventing lifestyle disease across Telangana. Full bank and payment details are available directly on our website for complete transparency.

How does building endurance actually prevent lifestyle diseases like diabetes and hypertension?

Endurance training improves how the body uses insulin, helps regulate blood pressure, supports healthy weight management, and strengthens the heart itself, all of which directly reduce the risk of diabetes, hypertension, and heart attacks. This is why Telangana Runners treats endurance not as a fitness trend, but as preventive medicine at a population scale, the same principle used in structured cardiac rehab, applied before disease ever begins.

Is my donation tax exempt?

Yes. Telangana Runners is registered to accept donations eligible for 80G tax exemption, so your contribution can be claimed against your taxable income in accordance with Indian tax law.

How can my company sponsor or partner with Telangana Runners and the Telangana Marathon?

Sponsoring Telangana Runners or the Telangana Marathon puts your brand in front of a growing statewide movement, one built to eventually reach every one of Telangana's 33 districts and a population of over two crore people. Corporate partners gain visibility at flagship events like the Cardiac Rehab Run and district level Telangana Marathon events, alongside the credibility of associating with India's first scientific institute for building endurance.
